Meet Jody

Jody Valentina is an author, publisher, artist and lifelong student of nature.
Originally a professional tattoo artist, Jody spent more than twenty years creating bespoke artwork for people from all walks of life. Alongside the demands of running a busy tattoo career, she was also raising her two sons, and the pace of life eventually became overwhelming.
In 2012, while lying in a hospital bed seriously ill, she believed she might not survive. Faced with the possibility that she would never meet her future grandchildren, she began writing the conversations she wished she could one day have with them. Those pages became the foundation of Experience Raising Your Vibration, the first book in what would later become the six-book Experience Series.
In 2015, Jody moved to Wales, where a different chapter of her life began. Surrounded by mountains, forests and wild landscapes, she slowly found her way back to herself. She continued tattooing, but in a way that felt more aligned with who she was becoming, travelling to festivals across Wales and exchanging tattoo machines for the ancient hand-tapped method using antlers. Working outdoors, surrounded by nature instead of four studio walls, gave her the breathing space she had been searching for.
Then COVID arrived, bringing the festivals to an abrupt halt. While unexpected, it became a turning point. With the constant demands of work suddenly gone, Jody immersed herself in the study of herbal medicine, wild plants and natural healing. Walking the Welsh hills and valleys, she discovered that many of the medicines she had been searching for had been growing quietly around her all along. That journey deepened into six years of research, personal experience and a growing understanding of our relationship with nature, health and consciousness.
Today, Jody is the founder of Valentina Press and the visionary behind The Valentina Academy, a project dedicated to experiential learning, nature, creativity and the sharing of wisdom across generations. She believes that experience transforms knowledge into wisdom, and that some of life's greatest teachers are found not in classrooms, but in the natural world.
When she isn't writing or developing new projects, you'll usually find her exploring the mountains, woodlands and coastline of Wales with her faithful companion, William, her thirteen-year-old dog. Together, they continue to discover the beauty, wonder and quiet lessons that nature offers every day.
Her hope is that her books encourage others to slow down, ask deeper questions, reconnect with nature and, ultimately, find their own way back home.
